Speaker 1:

Hello, friendplain Terry Warner here. This will be Season 4, episode 39. It's Faith and you, part 1. We'll get into an in-depth study on faith. Your foundation scripture is Romans 12, starting in verse 1.

Speaker 1:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you'll be able to test and approve what God's will is. It's good, pleasing and perfect will. For, by the grace given me, I say to every one of you do not thank yourself more highly than you should, but rather thank yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, who are many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve. If it is teaching, let him teach. If it is encouraging, let him serve. If it is teaching, let him teach. If it is encouraging, let him encourage. If it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously. If it is leadership, let him govern diligently. If it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Speaker 1:

The measure of faith that God gives us is the same, no matter who we are. Everyone gets the same measure of faith. Now, what we do with that measure and how we cultivate it and grow it is up to us. But you could have the same amount of faith. As a matter of fact, you could have the same amount of faith. As a matter of fact, you do have the same amount of faith as Billy Graham, the same amount of faith as Oral Roberts, the same amount of faith as Kenneth Copeland, the same amount of faith as Rick Renner All of these giants. The same amount of faith as Charles Capps, which I do a lot of his teaching out of. We're all given the same measure of faith. With that measure, we can grow that faith.

Speaker 1:

In Luke 17, I think it is, the apostles asked Jesus increase our faith. And Jesus didn't say fast. He didn't say work out every day. He didn't say pray every day. He didn't say sit and be quiet every day. He said increase your faith by hearing the word of God. And then he compared the word of God or I should say he compared your measure of faith as a grain of mustard seed. It's little. So the measure is not the size of the faith, the measure is the quality of the faith. That's what makes great faith. Taking God at his word, hearing his word, will increase your faith. So he said increase our faith. And Jesus said if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, just a little bit of faith, just a little bit, even the size of a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mountain or this tree be removed and be cast into the sea and it will obey you. Well, I've tried that, I've said it 300 times and it didn't work. Well, you just proved the point right there. It did not work. And if you say it 300 times, it's not going to work for you. How do you know? You didn't have to say it 301 times or 302 times or 303 times.

Speaker 1:

I know a particular person that hurt his foot and he couldn't go preach. And he didn't want to go preach because he hurt his foot and it hurt and it's walking and he couldn't preach healing going around, limping around on the stage Not a very good example. So he just, and his foot hit the floor. He said I confess my foot is healed. I confess my foot is healed. I confess my foot is healed, I confess my foot is healed. And on the 501st time he stood up with no pain and was healed. How long would he have said it? Long enough to get healed? How many times would he do it? As many times as it takes to get healed.

Speaker 1:

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. It doesn't come by reading a book or reading it, unless you're reading it out loud. Faith comes by hearing. That word here comes through your physical ears and goes down in your heart. And it gets down in your heart and then out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks and you can bring things to pass using your faith. I got a little sidetracked that way.

Speaker 1:

Romans 10, 17 says faith comes by hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of christ, jesus being the word made flesh. Stop and think about this. Everything is upheld by the word of his power, not his powerful word, not how powerful his word is. Everything is upheld by the word of his power. The word of god is sufficient and capable and dependable and can produce that what it says. God said there was darkness and God said light being light was. God said we needed a sun and he in divine health and prosperity. Everything I set my hand to do prospers. I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who gives me strength. Well, terry, that just doesn't work for me. It just did you worked it in the negative. Let me run this by you.

Speaker 1:

Faith-filled words dominate. Faith comes by hearing and hearing, by the word of God. Fear comes by hearing and hearing the words of the devil. That sort of clear it up a little bit. Hear God's word. Faith comes by hearing. Hearing of the devil, that sort of clears it up a little bit. Hear God's word. Faith comes by hearing, hearing God's word. It's got to be the true word, otherwise your faith is going to be built on something that is not sufficient to hold you under all conditions. It's got to be the true word of God.

Speaker 1:

Did you ever notice that when somebody gets mad and cusses, they don't say oh buddha or oh confucius, they curse using the name of jesus or cursing the name of god. What's wrong with that? The thing that's wrong with that is god is is not a god of curses. That's the devil. If you look in the bible, god made the blessings for man. Moses preached the law and it put everybody under a curse and a death sentence. Jesus preached the blessing and it put everybody under a life of abundance and prosperity and health and life and contentment and love.

Speaker 1:

You've got to realize all of this. All of this came about by God wanting a creation that he could fellowship with, wanting a creation that he could fellowship with. This whole world, universe, galaxies, planets, animals everything was made for man, and man was made in the image and likeness of God. He doesn't look like me. You see my physical body that I have on the earth. That's what I use to get around on the earth. We can't see God. He's a spirit. Nothing less than God opens our spiritual eyes or something. We can't see him. He's a spirit. That's why Jesus Christ came, and in a body on this earth, so they could.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, they's correct, the godhead could bring the word of god to the human person living on this earth and the human person living on this word, living on this worth, living on this earth, takes the of God and receives it into his heart and is born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed by the word of God. And that's why Jesus is the head and we're the body and we have, by grace, all of these gifts and benefits. But we have, by faith, the body. And we have, by grace, all of these gifts and benefits. But we have, by faith, the measure. What measure do we have? The same measure that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. So you think you've got enough measure of faith. Now I'm sure you do.

Speaker 1:

Get in the Word, read the Word. One of the best ways I've ever found to read the Word if you really want to grow your faith is get you a tape recorder or a headset. Get the version you want to read, like NIV or Amplified or King James or English, whatever you want to read. Open it up, turn the headset on and listen to it. Read the word to you out loud and you follow along in the Bible. It will just blow you away. It is neat.

Speaker 1:

Jesus is Lord. It's time we realized it and got on board with Him and got in His kingdom and got in his kingdom and got in his family. He's the head, we're the body, and find out what we're supposed to be doing to serve the others in the world, to bring Jesus into their hearts and lives and get them born again. God is returning soon for his church, for his believers. Are you going to be in the first grade? Are you going to go in a graduated advance where you can help others? I have not seen or heard the things that God has prepared for them, but it has been revealed to us by His Spirit. Praise the Lord, praise the spirit. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. You have a blessed day In Jesus' name, amen.
