Overcoming with the Strength of Scripture

Chaplain Terry Warner Season 4 Episode 31

How much change can faith as small as a mustard seed truly bring into your life? Join Chaplain Terry Warner in this episode of "Measure of Faith," as we unravel the remarkable power and transformative nature of faith. We start by exploring essential scriptures like Romans 12:1-3 and Luke 17:6, understanding how presenting our bodies as living sacrifices and renewing our minds can align us with God's perfect will. Discover the profound significance of this divine measure of faith, the same faith that raised Jesus from the dead, and learn how it is imparted to us as believers. With references to Ephesians 1 and 2, we dive deep into understanding the expansive riches of God's grace and the power He has bestowed upon us, guiding us to utilize Jesus' name and authority for greater works.

In the second chapter, "Unleashing the Measure of Faith," we stress the extraordinary faith available to believers through Jesus Christ, which even surpasses the faith needed to create the world. As the body of Christ, we have access to the same transformative power that raised Jesus from the dead. By truly knowing and living out the Word, believers are encouraged to recognize and claim their identity and authority in Christ to lead a victorious life. We'll conclude with reflections from Hebrews 12:1-2, offering a powerful call to shed our burdens and keep our focus on Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith. Don't miss out on these enriching discussions that promise to deepen your understanding and application of faith in your daily walk with Christ.

"He has shown you, O Man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8)

Speaker 1:

Hello, friend, chaplain Terry Warner here. This will be the Measure of Faith, Season 4, episode 31. It will air on July 29, 2024. Your Foundation Scriptures Romans 12, 1 through 3, luke 17, verse 6. Let's go to Romans 12, 1 through 3 first.

Speaker 1:

I beseech or urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice wholly acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world but be yourself transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, and Paul is no, you know, god is no respecter of persons. You look at Romans 2, 11 through 16. What God did for Paul, the apostle, he will do for you. God is no respecter of persons, let me back up here. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man, in other words man and woman that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he should, but to think soberly, seriously, sensible, solemn. Accordingly, as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith Luke 17, verses 5 and 6,. And the apostles said unto the Lord Jesus, increase our faith. And the Lord said If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you might say unto the sycamine tree. Now the sycamine tree was used for making coffins that would contain dead people. You might say to the sycamine tree Be plucked up by the root and be planted in the sea and it should obey you. It shall obey you to be truthful. The measure of faith is not the size of a grain of mustard seed. The measure of faith is the same amount of faith as God used to raise Jesus from the dead. So you could say the measure of faith is actually the quality of God's faith.

Speaker 1:

But first look at Ephesians 1.1. This Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointing One by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ, that would be all of us. The Messiah Anoint, annoying one, jesus. This now includes you, that the God of our Lord, jesus Christ, given to us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that they may know what is the hope of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought, or actively involving mental or physical power in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name, not only in this world but also in that which is to come, and has put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all.

Speaker 1:

Now look at chapter 2, 1 through 8. And you has he quickened or made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sin, wherein, in times past, you walked according to the course or the natural way of doing things of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience. The spirit that now works in the children of disobedience among whom also we had our conversation in times past in the lusts or desires of our senses, of the flesh and of our mind, and by nature, were the children of wrath even as to others, but God who is rich, in mercy for his great love, wherewith he loved us even when we were dead in sin, of wrath even as to others. But God, who is rich, in mercy for his great love, wherewith he loved us even when we were dead in sins, has quickened or made us alive together with Christ. By grace are you saved, and has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. For by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is a gift of God, not a work, lest any man should boast. In other words, god, the Father, raised Jesus from the dead using his faith. When he raised Jesus from the dead, jesus, he sent that faith in there to get that to work and and come about.

Speaker 1:

We receive the same measure of faith that God used when he raised Jesus from the dead. Then Jesus has given us his name, his power, power, his authority, the Holy Spirit to go and do the things and greater things than he did while on this earth. In the name of Jesus, using that measure of faith, jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12, 1 and 2 says Wherefore, seeing all we are soed about, but so great a cloud of witnesses. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, enduring the cross, despising his shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Speaker 1:

Listen to me very carefully, friend. The measure is not the size of a grain of mustard seed. That's just an example. That faith is so powerful that if you had one that was as large, if you had a measure that was as large as a grain of mustard seed, you could command the tree, the sycamine tree, to be plucked up and from its roots and cast into the sea. And it's going to happen. But we have a better, uh measure of faith than that. We have the same measure that raised jesus christ from the dead. That measure is greater than the measure that was needed or necessary to be used to create the world, because there was no opposition when god created the world.

Speaker 1:

Jesus is author and finisher of our faith. So when you put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ, you are given the measure of faith. Love is shed abroad in your heart and you become a Christian or a little Christ, the anointed one, the anointing that breaks the yoke. You become a child of God. Jesus is the head, you are the body and you have the same authority, the same measure of faith, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and performed all the miracles that you'll ever need to perform. And then he performed by the measure of faith given to you when jesus was raised from the dead. I'm going to repeat and the apostle said unto the lord, increase our faith. And the lord said if you had faith, complete trust and reliance on him as a grain of mustard seed, well, we have that. We have more than that. We have every bit of that. We have the same measure of faith that raised Jesus from the dead. You might say to this sycamine tree be yourself plucked up and cast into the sea and it will obey you.

Speaker 1:

Jesus is the author and finish finisher of our faith. He's been made the head. We've been made the body. All things have been put under his feet principalities, powers, dominions, demons, sickness, seas, disease, cancer, poverty, disease, cancer, poverty. Everything. The curse is put under his feet because it comes from the devil and the devil is put under his feet, the angels are put under our feet, everything from the throne of God down is under our feet, with Jesus being the head and we be in the body and we control and claim and control and dictate the status quo for this universe and our way of life in this world. Today, right now.

Speaker 1:

Hebrews 11, 39 to 40 it is the same size, talking about our faith, same density, exactly the same amount that god used to raise jesus from the dead. Jesus is the head of the church or the body of Christ. The head and the body are one unit and they all move and act as one. You don't say here comes Jesus and his body. You say here comes Jesus and that's us, because we are the body of Christ on this earth. Every person. In Hebrews 11 is from the Old Testament. The list of elders starts with God himself creating the world. God raising Jesus from the dead was a far greater act of faith than creating heaven and earth, because no principality or power or person opposed him when he created heaven and earth.

Speaker 1:

It is time we started believing and doing what the word says we can do. Doing what the word says we can do. Doing what the word says we can do, instead of just studying the word and having a mental ascent. Yes, amen, we know the word to be true. Yes, amen, I am full gospel. My Bible weighs five pounds.

Speaker 1:

How about this? I am a new creature in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away and, behold, all things have become new. I can do anything through Jesus Christ, who gives me strength. In him I live and move and have my being. Jesus Christ has made unto me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. I have the mind of Christ. Let this mind be in you. Who is in Christ Jesus? I am the body of Christ. I have the name of Christ, the head of Christ, the authority of Christ, the power of Christ, and I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who gives me strength? And I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who gives me strength.

Speaker 1:

It's time you started today Going out and living a victorious life. Call things that be not as though they were. Stay on top of them, work with them. Work with Jesus. Get in the word, read the word. Do what the word says it would do. Be what the word says it would do. Be what the word says you can be. Do everything in Jesus' name and, by the way, you have a blessed day in Jesus' name Amen.
